Industrial Installation for Industry & Plant Engineering

More than 200 customers worldwide rely on A & P for the installation, relocation, and automation of their production facilities. Four locations in Germany, a subsidiary in Spain, and project management across four continents.

Global Industrial Installation

Active in various industries worldwide

A & P has been operating as an industrial assembly service provider since 2004 and works for clients in the manufacturing and process industries. The team consists of a core group of skilled workers from the metalworking industry, including assemblers, metalworkers, welders, sheet metal fabricators, electronics technicians, and mechatronics technicians. These roles complement one another within each project, eliminating the need to divide mechanical and electrical work among multiple trades.
What a project requires depends heavily on the industry. A window replacement in time-sensitive vehicle manufacturing follows different rules than a plant relocation in food production or the setup of a new production line in the electronics industry. The following overview shows the industries in which A & P operates.

One-Stop Industrial Installation Services

Industries in which A & P operates

Mechanical Engineering

Machine builders are constantly retrofitting, expanding, and adapting production lines to accommodate new components. A & P handles mechanical assembly—from individual machines to complete systems—carries out retrofits and expansions, and establishes the electrical connections—all within the same team. Additional assembly personnel are available to handle peak assembly volumes, as described in detail in the section on industrial assembly.

Metal Industry

Heavy-duty machining centers, presses, and metal-forming equipment must be moved, re-founded, and realigned when layout changes are made. A & P dismantles and reassembles equipment of this size, aligns machines according to specifications, and handles the electrical reconnection. For details on the procedure, see “Equipment Disassembly and Reassembly”; for specialists for individual project phases, see “Installers for Industrial Projects.”

Automotive Industry

Manufacturers and suppliers operate on a just-in-time basis, so modifications to body shops, assembly lines, and test stations must be carried out within tight time frames. A & P plans relocations by conducting condition assessments, layout planning, and transportation coordination, and carries out disassembly, reassembly, and commissioning within the agreed-upon time window. See the “Machine Relocation” page for the procedure and project steps.

Electrical Industry

In electrical and electronics manufacturing, control technology determines when a new production line goes into operation. A & P handles electrical design, control panel construction, system wiring, software development, and robot programming through to both virtual and actual commissioning. Learn more under Electrical Engineering and Automation.

Food Industry

The procedure for moving filling and processing lines involves brief production breaks, and cleanability and material requirements must be strictly adhered to. A & P relocates individual machines and entire lines, handles disassembly, transport, and reassembly, and provides support during the production startup. See the procedure and scope of services under “Machine Relocation for Production Facilities.”

Chemical Industry

Plants in the chemical industry are closely interconnected through piping, media distribution, and process control technology. A & P installs and upgrades plant components, carries out retrofits on existing facilities, and establishes the electrical connections, including the process control system. For more information, see “Industrial Installation for Production Plants.”

Pharmaceuticals & Medical Technology

Production facilities in the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries require reliable documentation of the initial condition for every move. A & P records the condition prior to disassembly, relocates machines and production lines, and reassembles them at the destination site according to a documented layout. For details, see “Relocation of Production Facilities.”

Packaging Industry

Packaging and filling lines consist of many individual modules, and the order in which they are reassembled determines the time required to get the line up and running. A & P disassembles, transports, and reassembles entire lines and, if necessary, provides additional technicians to assist with the setup. Learn more under “Machine Relocation.”

Plastics Processing & Injection Molding

Injection molding machines and peripheral equipment are frequently reconfigured when product lines or mold setups change. A & P disassembles and reassembles machines and their auxiliary units, handles utility and electrical connections, and reconfigures the systems. For information on the procedure for disassembling and reassembling systems.

Paper, Printing, and Corrugated Cardboard Industry

Printing and corrugated cardboard production lines operate for decades and are completely disassembled and reassembled when relocated. A & P plans the process, including a condition analysis, layout, and transportation routes, and carries out the disassembly, relocation, and reassembly. For more details, see Plant Relocation.

Wood & Furniture Industry

CNC machining centers and automated production lines require precise alignment and seamless integration during installation. A & P installs individual machines and production lines, performs upgrades, and handles the electrical connections through to commissioning. Learn more under “Equipment Installation.”

Building Materials & Cement Industry

Plant engineering in building materials production is typically carried out on existing facilities, either during ongoing operations or with only a brief interruption. A & P dismantles plant components, installs replacement and expansion components, and adjusts steel and support structures. For details, see “Plant Dismantling and Reassembly on Existing Facilities.”

Intralogistics & Material Handling

Conveyor systems, storage and retrieval machines, and sorting technology only become fully functional systems once installed at the site. A & P handles assembly, wiring, control cabinet construction, control technology, and commissioning, including visualization. Learn more under Electrical Engineering and Automation for Systems.

Energy Industry & Plant Engineering

Heating, process, and energy systems are expanded, modernized, and partially replaced over long operating lifespans. A & P installs system components, handles retrofits and expansions, and connects the systems’ electrical and control equipment. For more details, see “Installation of Industrial Systems.”

Environmental Technology, Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems

In water and wastewater treatment plants, process control technology governs operations, while the plant equipment itself remains in service for decades. A & P handles the retrofitting of control systems, control panel construction, wiring, and commissioning, as well as the mechanical installation of new components. See the “Automation and Process Control” section for details on our scope of services.

Battery & Semiconductor Manufacturing

New facilities for battery and semiconductor production tie up significant assembly and automation capacity over an extended period. A & P provides support with equipment installation, wiring, and control panel construction, as well as robot programming and skilled personnel throughout the entire project duration. Learn more under Electrical Assembly and Automation.

Aerospace | Rail Technology

Manufacturing and final assembly in the aerospace and rail industries involve the use of special fixtures, steel structures, and cabins. A & P handles the final assembly of steel structures and cabins, installs special fixtures, and provides skilled workers for final assembly. For more information, see Industrial Assembly and Special Assembly.

Safety-Critical Industries

Projects in security-sensitive industries follow their own guidelines regarding access, procedures, and documentation. A & P carries out plant and specialized installations in this environment, including the dismantling, relocation, and reassembly of existing plant equipment. For details, see “Dismantling and Reassembly of Plant Equipment.”

Machinery & Equipment Manufacturers

Manufacturers install their equipment at the end customer’s site without having to maintain a permanent staff of their own installers. A & P handles these installations as an extended workbench, worldwide and, upon request, as a contract for work and services that includes the provision of tools and machinery. Learn more under “Installation Personnel for Machine Builders.”
